Ben New

Ben New is a Managing Director at GSV, where he focuses on evaluating investment opportunities and leading due diligence across the firm’s portfolio. Since joining GSV in 2018, Ben has partnered closely with founders and management teams to assess growth potential, operational fit, and long-term value creation.

Ben began his career in investment banking at Founders Advisors and later at Citizens Capital Markets and Advisory before joining Raymond James, where he advised corporate clients and private equity firms on M&A transactions and growth equity raises, primarily in the software and tech-enabled services sectors. Originially drawn to GSV because of the firm’s fast pace and entrepreneurial spirit—an environment that rewards ownership, curiosity, and disciplined execution—he has maintained a simple investment ethos: think like an owner.

His first investment at GSV was Streamline VRS, a vertical software platform serving short-term rental property managers that is now part of the Inhabit family of brands. Today, however, Ben is especially interested in opportunities where intelligent automation is deeply embedded in systems of record—combining proprietary data and workflow insight to create durable competitive advantage.
