About
Carrie Gregg is an Operating Partner at Greater Sum Ventures, where she works with portfolio companies to help scale operations, strengthen payments infrastructure, and navigate the operational complexity that comes with growth. With more than 13 years of experience across SaaS, payments, customer success, and operational leadership, she brings a practical, execution-oriented approach to building durable businesses.
Prior to joining GSV, Carrie spent over a decade at Ministry Brands, where she advanced from Business Development Manager to General Manager of the Giving & Payments business, and most recently served as Vice President of Operations and Chief of Staff. Across those roles, she led multi-functional organizations spanning sales, support, customer success, product, and development, while building deep expertise in SaaS payments, acquisition integration, and operational scale.
Carrie is known for bringing structure, clarity, and accountability to fast-growing environments. She thrives in situations where growth creates real operational challenges that need to be solved, not simply observed, and has built a reputation for aligning teams around clear expectations and disciplined execution. A highly collaborative leader, she combines strategic thinking with a hands-on operating style that helps companies scale without losing momentum.
In addition to her operating experience, Carrie is the founder of Girls Only Adventure Trips, a Salt Lake City-based community focused on helping women build confidence, connection, and community through accessible outdoor adventures and shared experiences.
Q&A
What’s your operating superpower?
My operating superpower is creating momentum in ambiguous environments. I can step into uncertainty, disconnected teams, shifting priorities, and growing pains and quickly (and quietly) make things move again through clarity, relationships, and follow-through execution. I drive the most impact through cross-functional operational leadership, where multiple teams need alignment but no one naturally owns the connective tissue. I also drive impact through building order without killing culture and keeping people engaged and respected. At the end of the day, I enjoy helping companies feel less chaotic while still empowering them to move faster.
What kind of founders or companies do you love working with?
I thrive with scrappy founders and growth-stage companies. I am energized by environments where people wear multiple hats, decisions move quickly, systems evolve in real time, and there’s room to create order and influence outcomes. I work best with founders who are visionary, but operationally stretched and aware that they need someone to help operationalize the chaos without slowing momentum.
