About
Jessica Chasse joined GSV in 2024 as a Senior Associate on the sourcing team, where she works across multiple platforms to identify exceptional founders and uncover high-impact investment opportunities. Originally from Sydney, Australia, Jessica came to the U.S. over a decade ago to play Division I water polo at California State University, where she earned her bachelor’s degree and captained her team during her senior year.
Before joining GSV, Jessica led People Operations for GrowthPlug, a PracticeTek portfolio company and GSV-backed healthcare IT platform. That experience gave her firsthand insight into what it takes to build and scale high-performing teams—a perspective she now brings to identifying promising companies and leadership talent across the portfolio.
Jessica thrives on partnering with visionary founders who are transforming essential industries. She is particularly drawn to software that solves critical but often overlooked problems in sectors like public service, energy, and professional services. Guided by a belief that the best investments start with trust and shared values, Jessica approaches every partnership as a long-term collaboration—one built on alignment, integrity, and mutual ambition.
Q&A
What Do You Love Most About Being an Investor?
What I love most is the privilege of building relationships with visionary founders and operators. Getting to hear the stories behind their companies, the risks they took, the problems they’re passionate about solving, and then being able to support their next chapter is incredibly rewarding. I also love the intellectual challenge: every conversation stretches my thinking, whether it’s about a niche market dynamic, an emerging technology, or a creative approach to growth. But above all, it’s knowing that behind every deal are people and teams whose work changes industries and creates opportunities for others. Being part of that journey is energizing.
What I Wish More Founders Knew Before Taking on Capital?
I wish more founders viewed choosing a capital partner as selecting a long-term teammate, not just a transaction. The best partnerships are about more than valuation; they’re about shared values, complementary strengths, and trust.
